Andrew Andreyevich Romanov (born 21 January 1923) is a Russian American artist and author. He is a great-nephew of Russia's last Emperor, Nicholas II, see Romanov Family Association. ==Biography==
Andrew Andreyevich Romanov was born in London, England to Prince Andrei Alexandrovich of Russia (1897–1981) and his first morganatic wife, Elisabetha Sasso-Ruffo (1886–1940). He is the head of the family of his great-grandfather, Emperor Alexander III of Russia. He is the eldest living male line grandson of HIH Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich of Russia and his wife HIH Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna of Russia, the eldest sister of the last reigning Emperor Nicholas II of Russia, thereby being the last Emperor's closest family relation from the Romanov Family. His godfather was Edward VIII of the United Kingdom. He spent his childhood living in a guesthouse at Windsor Castle. Romanov was educated at the Imperial Service College and served in the Royal Navy during World War II. In 1949 he left the United Kingdom for the United States where he worked for a time as a carpenter. He became a naturalised U.S. citizen on 20 December 1954.〔 He currently resides in Marin County, California and in 2007 released an autobiography called ''The Boy Who Would Be Tsar'' which is illustrated with his artwork. His work has been exhibited worldwide, including recent exhibitions at Gallery 16 in San Francisco.
